The Lord of the Rings is a magnificient piece of literature. It breathes it's own breath and was obviously wrought by a man who loves to write. I, for my part, have decided to bastardise it with these sketches. The novels are a joy and doubly so when listened to on audiobook.

I'm posting sketches I do while I'm working. I'm animating in cutout right now so I like to draw throughout the day to keep my hand from seizing up like a taut string. The work is just doodling, but I think it's important to show process.

Three things to keep in mind about these (and recent I suppose) posts:
a.) I've been listening to LOTR on audiobook while I work recently
b.) I hate Dion Phaneuf and
c.) I wish I could draw like John K.

Better. Try again tomorrow.

Better, but still not quite there. The legs are awkward and the perspective on the foot is all wrong. Tsk tsk.

Working out a pose

I posted a girl twisting and looking behind her a few days ago. It's not quite right, so I'm going to try to keep working on it.  This one doesn't work either, the bum is twinning.
